Where is the Organization of Islamic Cooperation headed?

Foreign Minister, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, here yesterday. 

At the beginning of the meeting, Madani offered condolences to Sheikh Abdullah for the Emirati martyrs who fell while participating in the Saudi-led Arab coalition's Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.

Sheikh Abdullah discussed with Madani topics related to supporting and enhancing the OIC's role, both regionally and internationally.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the need for Islamic joint action and reiterated the UAE's support for the OIC's efforts in strengthening solidarity among Islamic countries in all fields.

The OIC secretary-general briefed Sheikh Abdullah on the organisation's programmes and development plans. He also highlighted the current international developments and their implications on the Islamic world, and praised the UAE's support to the organisation.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al Haidan, Assistant Foreign Minister for Organisations Affairs. –End-
