They will cast their votes not in voting centers

ABU DHABI - The National Election Committee (NEC) has announced that voting for the Federal National Council (FNC) abroad will begin on Sunday and will continue for two days (20th and 21st September) at 94 polling stations designated by the NEC and approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

The list includes 94 stations at UAE diplomatic missions, including embassies and consulates.

Members of the Electoral College can check the address of the diplomatic missions abroad by visiting the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: www.mofa.gov.ae or the National Election Committee: www.uaenec.ae.

The NEC urged citizens to confirm if their names are on the voters’ list in order to enable them to cast their vote on election day. The names can be verified by visiting www.uaenec.ae or through NEC’s call centre 600500005.

Tariq Lootah, undersecretary of the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs and the chairman of the Election Management Committee, said the NEC and MoFA have finalised all arrangements for voting outside the UAE as per standards, which he said are the highest in the world, in order to ensure accuracy, transparency and integrity of the elections.

Lootah added that the overseas polling stations are part of the NEC's efforts to enable nationals who have to be abroad to exercise their right to vote and elect their representatives. –end-
