BEIRUT -- The UAE Embassy in Lebanon, has supervised the implementation
of a number of charitable and humanitarian projects, on the occasion of Eid
al-Adha.
The projects include sending individuals to perform
Hajj, distributing Eid-al Adha clothes, and providing sacrificial meat.
The humanitarian projects are being implemented by
the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable & Humanitarian Foundation, the
Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and the Emirates Red Crescent, in
cooperation with the Lebanese government bodies which include Dar Fatwa in
Lebanon, Orphanage House, municipalities, as well as the United Nations Relief
and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, the UAE Ambassador to
the Republic of Lebanon ,said that the UAE's wise leadership gives extra
attention to the implementation of charitable and humanitarian projects locally
and internationally.
He added that the projects came in line with the
embassy's annual programmes in Beirut to mark Eid al-Adha which includes
segments of the Lebanese community, Palestinian camps and Syrian refugees in
various areas. The gesture also aims to provide support and aid to the
underprivileged and needy segments in this holy occasion.
