                         Arab Parliament urges end to arms embargo on Libya 

DJIBOUTI--- The Arab Parliament said that a U.N. arms embargo imposed on Libya in 2011 must be lifted in response to a resolution by the Arab League and that national dialogue and the recognised House of Representatives should be backed. The pan-Arab parliamentary body also urged members of the Arab League to come up with an accord to find a solution to the crisis in Syria.

In a communique issued Sunday after a three-day meeting, the Arab Parliament stressed the need to combat terrorists and extremists seeking to undermine security and stability in Libya. It also stressed that an exit from the Syrian crisis should protect the Syrian people from the ongoing bloodbath and destruction. 

Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Ahmed Al Jarwan, stressed that the situation in the two Arab countries impacting the region, pan-Arab national security and the whole world.

Al Jarwan added, "the Arab Parliament will not allow any damage to the territorial integrity and unity of both Arab countries." -end-
