- The UAE Ministerial Council for Services, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs,
discussed recommendations of a study on the strategic planning of national
workforce in the UAE.
The project includes designing a database of six million persons working in the UAE, which contributed into forecasting job opportunities in the coming thirty years as well as developing and evaluating current national policies and increasing the participation of nationals in the labour market across the country.
The project comes in line with directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to develop a strategic framework to increase national participation in labour market as set out in the UAE Vision 2021 and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The Ministry of Presidential Affairs conceptualized and implemented the project in collaboration with a number of federal and local government entities in the country. The project is one of the strategic components of the ‘Absher’ initiative.
Meanwhile, the Ministerial Council addressed other issues on the agenda. It reviewed a number of federal laws and regulations such as amending some items in the federal law on regulating Commercial Agencies where family-owned businesses will be joint-stock companies. Others laws included using technologies in health sector.
On the other hand, the Council also addressed issues related to government affairs by reviewing a number of recommendations submitted by the Federal National Council on matters related to Cooperatives as well as other matters pertaining to housing policies and employment visa.
The Ministerial Council also reviewed a number of reports such as the closing statement of the Emirates Telecommunications Corporations for the year 2014. -end-
