ABU DHABI -- The Abu Dhabi Media Company has announced that
two correspondents of the Abu Dhabi TV channel sustained minor injuries when
their positions were targeted in Aden on Tuesday.
In a statement, the company said
correspondent Saleh Ali and photo journalist Yasser Adnan sustained minor
injuries, and were now in a stable state of health. Both of them were part of
the Arab coalition media coverage team, and have safely arrived home to receive
more medical care.
Mohammed Al Mahmoud, Chairman and
Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Media Company, said the company is keen to
ensure the safety of its staff, who are close to the battlefields in Yemen.
"We are determined to maintain a professional line and exercise
responsibilities towards the nation and society by conveying the truth and
coverage of the achievements of the Arab coalition forces in Yemen," he
said, adding, "We will continue to cover the role of the UAE armed forces
within the Arab coalition forces, led by Saudi Arabia, to restore legitimacy to
Yemen."
Al Mahmoud said, "Our technical crew will stay put to
cover the latest developments and victories on the ground in line with the
framework of the company's directives to keep the public posted about
humanitarian and military operations there."
