Books from this country a big hit at Beijing international book fair

The UAE pavilion at the 22nd edition of the Beijing International Book Fair, has been attracting many Chinese visitors.

While at the pavilion, they visit the Arabic calligraphy and Heritage Village to write their names in Arabic language and try the traditional Emirati clothes, experience henna drawing and taking photographs.

Afra Al Saberi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and the accompanying delegation, toured various pavilions, where they were briefed about publications on different disciplines and the latest editions published by Chinese publishing houses.

She met many Chinese, European and Arab cultural officials and discussed with them ways to strengthen cultural co-operation.

Al Saberi noted that the meetings followed directives from Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, to depict the genuine image of the UAE and its cultural diversity, and strengthen communications with international publishers.  –End-
