The
UAE pavilion at the 22nd edition of the Beijing International Book Fair, has
been attracting many Chinese visitors.
While
at the pavilion, they visit the Arabic calligraphy and Heritage Village to
write their names in Arabic language and try the traditional Emirati clothes,
experience henna drawing and taking photographs.
Afra
Al Saberi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community
Development, and the accompanying delegation, toured various pavilions, where
they were briefed about publications on different disciplines and the latest
editions published by Chinese publishing houses.
She
met many Chinese, European and Arab cultural officials and discussed with them
ways to strengthen cultural co-operation.
Al
Saberi noted that the meetings followed directives from Sheikh Nahyan bin
Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, to
depict the genuine image of the UAE and its cultural diversity, and strengthen
communications with international publishers. –End-
