In
line with the directives of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed
Al Nahyan, the Follow-up Committee of the Initiatives of UAE President has
approved a number of housing and service schemes in the different emirates of
the UAE.
These
projects are in implementation of the directives of the President and follow-up
of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi
and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to secure adequate
housing for citizens across the UAE.
The
approval came following a meeting of the committee, held on Wednesday under the
chairmanship of Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs.
The
committee sanctioned a budget of AED 90 million for the second phase of the Sheikh
Khalifa Marine Research Centre project in Umm al-Qaiwain.
Also
approved was a project to build and maintain 180 houses for citizens at a total
cost of AED 170 million. The project entails construction and maintenance of
130 houses in Kalba, 24 in Al Hileou, 10 in Khor Khuwair and 16 in different
areas of Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Qaiwain and Fujairah.
The
committee okayed an AED 4.5 million project to transfer a 33 KV power line in
Al Munaie area.
Al
Za'abi said the projects were being implemented in keeping with the wise
leadership's directives to provide stable and decent living standards and
comfort to the UAE citizens.
He
praised the support extended by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, to the committee and its
projects, which are expected to be implemented on schedule and in accordance
with the current best practices in the field.
The
meeting was attended by Jabr Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu
Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Mohammed Abdullah Al Romaithi, Under Secretary of
the Presidential Affairs Ministry for Financial and Procurement Affairs, Rashid
Saeed Al Ameri, Under Secretary of the Presidential Ministry for Government
Liaison Sector, Saeed Mohammed Al Meqbali, Advisor at the Ministry of
Presidential Affairs, Faris Obaid Al Dhaheri, Director General of Abu Dhabi
Water and Electricity Authority, Mohammed Mohammed Saleh, Director General of
the Federal Electricity and Water Authority, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mail, Assistant
Under Secretary for Housing and Urban Planning at the Ministry of Public Works,
Mohammed Al Mai'ni and Ali Al Dahmani. –End-
