Manila, PH -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to release 11 Filipinos jailed in
Dubai for various crimes, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
The Filipinos are among 734 prisoners given pardon and scheduled to be
released at a still undetermined date in observance of Ramadan, according to
the Department of Foreign Affairs.
UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, ordered their release.
Dubai’s Attorney General Issam Al Humaidan said his office has begun the
legal procedures to implement the Sheikh’s release order in cooperation with
the Dubai Police.
