Wildlife hunters must stick to government regulations

Abu Dhabi -- His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, has issued a resolution for issuing the implementing regulations of law No. 22 of 2005 regarding hunting in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

According to the resolution, the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) will be the exclusive competent authority in the emirate for licensing areas for hunting. No hunting area may be established or operated without obtaining a prior permit  from the licensing authority and has to register with this authority as per provisions contained in these regulations.

The resolution stipulates that hunting shall only be allowed within the geographic boundaries of the licensed hunting area under the supervision and operation of a professional hunter and operator.

''The license must delineate the geographic boundaries of the hunting area, requirements and conditions of practicing hunting activities including the permits granted to operators,'' the resolution stated. -end-
