Parched West Sudan gets life-giving drinking water from Arab world




JEDDAH -- The International Islamic Relief of Muslim of World League has opened a new station to provide drinking and irrigation water in 'Ghabsha Badein' area, which lies 170 kilometers to the West of Al-Obeid city in Western Sudan.

The station is provided with capabilities necessary to pump large quantities of water enough to more than 10 villages inhabited by 20,000 people, according to the SPA.

The Secretary-General of the Organisation Ihsan bin Saleh Tayeb, said the opening of the station is one of the important projects for water supply in large quantities to some remote areas. –end-
