Banquets in Orphanages for Ramadan


Ambassador of the UAE to Malaysia, Abdullah Mattar Al Mazrouie, today inaugurated the Iftar and Date Distribution Project, an initiative of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation to benefit thousands of people in more than five Malaysian states throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The project is being supervised by the UAE Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and will help sustain orphans and people with special needs. Banquets will be organised at orphanages, welfare centres and universities in collaboration with the relevant local authorities.

Ambassador Al Mazrouie seized the occasion to greet President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Member and Rulers of the Emirates, the people and residents of the UAE. He also expressed his best wishes for the leasers and the country.

The ambassador noted that the UAE deserved to be named humanitarian work and as it was named the world’s largest donor of development assistance.

Halim bin Ibrahim, President of Malaysia's National Council of Welfare and Social Development, praised the UAE for its humanitarian initiatives under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the patron of the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.  –End
