KATHMANDU: A 16-member of the UAE Armed Forces team has started their expedition to conquer Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain.
The team had earlier set up a camp in the Khumbu valley in Nepal prior to their expedition.
The voyage would be the first official military team in the region to climb the world’s highest peak.
One of the team members and the doctor accompanying the mission, Dr Hashel Obaid Al Tunaiji, said that all the team members are in good health and have gradually adapted to the high altitudes and the decreasing levels of oxygen.
