It's 30 tons of food for cyclone victims

SHARJAH -- As per directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF), the 16th consignment of relief aid arrived this morning in the Republic of Yemen on board an Emirati plane carrying 30 tons of food and relief materials to be provided to the people affected by Chapala cyclone that hit the island and other areas.

Their Highnesses' directive aims to provide urgent relief aid and supplies to the people of Yemen as a result of the current situation in the country and to shelter the victims of the cyclone.

An official source at the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, KF, said the UAE relief aid supplies includes five tons of tents and blankets, five tons of medicines, 20 tons of various food items.


The official source also added that the cargo plane will be unloaded today. The Khalifa Foundation team will supply the Khalifa bin Zayed Hospital in Socotra with medicines and other medical supplies for the people of Yemen.
